He was the widower of Judy Stapp Partain. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home with Interment at Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, April 14, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Mr. Partain was born on February 9, 1932 to Albert O.D. & Lorene Patton Partain. O.D. was a Classroom Training Instructor for the U.S. Civil Service. He had retired from the United States Air Force after serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Batesville, MS. Survivors include: 2 sisters: Joan P. Collins of Marks, MS, Betty P. Reid and husband Leroy, of Lambert, MS; 1 brother: Robert L. Partain and wife Katie of Oakland, MS; a very special niece, Pam R. Russell of Batesville, MS and nephews, Lee Reid, Ken, Mike and Kevin Collins and Robbie and Steve Partain. The family asks that memorials be sent to The American Cancer Society.
