James K. Greer

James K. Greer, age 83, passed away Thursday evening, December 31, 2015 at the Ms. State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2016 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time. Reverend Rusty Miller will be officiating the service. James was born December 30, 1932 in Ruth, MS to the late Marshall and Ethel Boyd Greer. He retired after 42 faithful years of service with International Paper in Natchez, MS. James honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. In his spare time, James enjoyed riding motorcycles, flying private airplanes, and playing his guitar. James is survived by his loving family, which include, his wife, Shirley Locke Greer of Batesville, MS; daughter, Melissa Gehring of Brandon, MS; son, James Eddie Greer of Ruth, MS; step-daughter, Terri Michelle Buford of Vidalia, LA; step-son, C.L. Wheeler of Baton Rouge, LA, and nine grandchildren.
