Russell "Billy" Rogers

Russell "Billy" Rogers, age 88, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 30, 2015 at the Methodist Hospice House in Memphis, TN. Mr. Rogers is the widower of the late Mary Jane Howell Rogers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Enid, MS. Rev. Calvin Miller will officiate the service. Billy was born April 15, 1927 to the late Jack Allen Rogers and Eula Pearl Norris Rogers in Water Valley, MS. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class. Billy retired from Memphis Furniture Company after 23 years where he was a shop foreman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Horn Lake, MS. Family he leaves behind include his daughter Terry Leslie of Enid, MS, 2 sons; Richard Earl Rogers (Janna) of Olive Branch, MS, Russell Edward Rogers of Memphis, TN, and 5 Grandchildren.
