Geneva Howell Buntin, age 80, passed away Thursday morning, December 24, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. She is the widow of the late Jerry Lofton Buntin.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 27, 2015 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Geneva was born April 11, 1935 in Tallahatchie County to the late Burtrum Hy and Ollie Baker Howell. She worked for the Hosier Mill here in Batesville before it became Panola Mills. Geneva continued working there for several more years before she and he late husband, Jerry, opened and operated Batesville Vending. Geneva was a member of former Wray's Chapel Church of God in Pope, MS.
She is survived by children; daughter, Donna Holley Crosswhite (David) of Batesville, MS, two sons, Ronnie Holley of Batesville, MS, Rodney Holley (Theresa) of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Vontice Howell Lambert of Pope, MS, Diane Howell Sanford of Pope, MS; brother, Jamie Howell of Pope, MS; three grandchildren, Dave Crosswhite, Kathleen Holley, Abigail Holley.
Along with her husband and parents, Geneva was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Howell Tigner, Jeanette Howell Anthony; grandson, Jordon Skylar Crosswhite, and daughter-in-law, Vicki Sayles Holley.
