She was the widow of Lawrence P. Cox. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, 3/31/09 at Wells Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, 4/1/09, at 11:00 a.m. at Hebron Cemetery in Sardis, MS. Reverend Terry Tribble will officiate the service. Marie was born on January 17, 1932 to Ed & Mary Alford Simmerman. In years past, Mrs. Cox was a sewing machine operator for Mr. James Yelton and also a homemaker. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Marilyn Taylor Dew of Sardis, MS; 1 Son: Russell Gene Taylor of Sardis, MS; 1 Brother: Evander Simmerman of Sardis, MS; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
