Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Sardis Lake Baptist Church followed by interment in Longtown Cemetery in Crenshaw, Ms. beside her late husband, Jessie Reese Britt. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Sardis Lake Baptist Church. Mrs. Britt worked at Sardis Luggage Company in Sardis, Ms. for many years and was a member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church. She was born November 11, 1931 in Tate County, Ms. to the late Homer L. and Gertie Maples Barmer. Mrs. Britt is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Britt Hansgen and husband Mark of Bartlett, Tn., Cathy S. Luther and husband Larry of Como, Ms., Frances Barmer of Senatobia, Ms.; three sons, James Edward Bray and wife Karen of Byhalia, Ms., Paul E. Britt and wife Beverly of Sardis, Ms., Michael R. Britt of Como, Ms.; three sisters, Maggie Barmer Stuckey of Sardis, Ms., Joyce Barmer Brown of Sardis, Ms. and Anna Barmer Russell of Batesville, Ms. She also is survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by two sisters, Maybelle Moore and Rose Nead; two brothers, Walter Barmer and James L. “Jack” Barmer.
