William James Davis

Mr. William James "Bill" Davis, age 64, passed away Tuesday evening, November 24, 2015, at his home in Pope, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home and interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Friday evening, November 27, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Bill was born April 5, 1951 in Key West, FL to the late Walter David and Mary Elizabeth Mooney Davis. He was an attorney holding a license to practice in both Mississippi and Tennessee. Bill was a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, MS. He was also a member of Gideon's International and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Bill was the inaugural recipient of the Award for Professionalism by the Mississippi Bankruptcy Conference, INC. Bill leaves cherished memories with his wife of 41 years, Patricia Louise Marsh Davis of Pope, MS; two daughters, Carrie Elizabeth Davis Simon (Ashley) of Erath, LA, Stephanie Ann Davis Ritchie (Josh) of Batesville, MS; five sons, Curt Bentley Davis (Stacy) of Bartlett, TN, Mark Arnold Davis (Jennifer) of Canton, MS, John Stephen Davis (Laura) of Dalton, GA, William Andrew Davis (Meagan) of Kingsville, TX, David Preston Davis of Pope, MS; brother, David W. Davis (Maria) of Killeen, TX, and twelve grandchildren.
