Simmerman, age 71, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Ms. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday 3/3/09 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Middleton and Reverend Roger Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Mr. Simmerman was born May 6, 1937 in Washington County Mississippi to Ed and Mary Alford Simmerman. Curtis was former owner of Simmerman BP of Sardis, Ms. and also retired self-employed logger. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Batesville, Ms. where he served as a assistant sunday school teacher and also served on various committees. Curtis loved to hunt and fish and be outdoors. He leaves his wife of 45 years Bonnie Posey Simmerman, Batesville, Ms. Daughter: Lynelle Simmerman Payne, Courtland, Ms. Son: Stacy Simmerman, Batesville, Ms. Sister: Marie Simmerman Cox, Sardis, Ms. Brother: Evander Simmerman, Sardis, Ms. Four grandchildren, One great-grandchild and Three step-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday night 3/2/09.
