James William Griffin

Mr. James William "J.W." Griffin, passed away October 14, 2015, at his home in Courtland, Mississippi. Funeral services for J.W. will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. Interment will follow the service at Crowder Cemetery. Reverend Larry Kilgore and Reverend Bobby Holland will officiate. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the service. J.W. was born March 2, 1942 to the late James Owen Griffin and Lillie Mae Harrison Griffin in Lambert, MS. He was a skilled carpenter all of his life. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Marilyn Hawkins Griffin of Courtland, MS, 3 daughters; Sissy Caine, of Courtland, Krissy Austin of Courtland, Tonya Klytta of Pope, step daughter Christiana White of Courtland, 2 sons; Michael Wayne Griffin of Batesville, and Joe Griffin of Courtland, sister, Kathy Daugherty of Courtland, and brother, Sammy Griffin of Come, 15 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
