Johnny J. Fewell, Jr., age 75, passed away Saturday morning, October 3, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Hebron Baptist Church near Sardis, MS with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, October 6, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. The Reverend Terry Tribble will be officiating the service. Jonny was born October 21, 1939 in Tunica, MS to the late Johnny J. Fewell, Sr. and Margaret Campbell Fewell. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and retired after 35 years as a Derrick Engineer for Illinois Central Railroad. Following his retirement, Johnny worked for six years as a camper mover for Hoosier in Indiana, and then for two years as a pallet driver for Rex Cole in Batesville, MS. Johnny honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 - 1962. Right before being discharge from the Army, he married his wife on January 13, 1962 in Germany. Johnny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Speidel Fewell of Sardis, MS; two sons, Ronny W. Fewell of Sardis, MS, Andy L. Fewell of Byhalia, MS; four grandchildren & three great-grandchildren.
