Charles "Bob" R. Brewer

Charles R. "Bob" Brewer, age 82, passed away late Friday evening, September 18, 2015, at the Veterans Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with visitation beginning Tuesday morning at 11:30 A.M. Interment will follow the service in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. Dr. Tommy Snyder will be officiating the service. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Andrew Murphree Scoggins, Ronald B. "Ronnie" Westbrook, Warren Hastings Westbrook, Matthew Tyler Brewer, Robert Bailey Westbrook, William Spencer Scoggins, and Darrell Kirkland Scoggins. Bob was born March 7, 1933 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Upton and Dorothy Martindale Brewer. He was a retired superintendent for ANR Pipeline after 39 years of dedicated service and a member of the First Baptist Church in Batesville, MS. Bob honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had obtained the rank of Corporal before being discharged. Bob was also a longtime active member of the Batesville Civitan Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and there was nothing he could not fix. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Katie Murphree Brewer of Batesville, MS; daughter, Valorie Brewer Westbrook (Ronnie) of Decatur, MS; son, Charles Randall "Randy" Brewer (Malia) of Batesville, MS; four grandchildren, Warren Hastings Westbrook (Krystal), Robert Bailey Westbrook (Rachel), Matthew Tyler Brewer (Whitney), Amanda Jean Brewer; two great-grandchildren, Anna Kate Westbrook and Willow June Brewer The family request anyone wishing to send a memorial contribution in Bob's memory to forward those to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to the charity of your choice.
