Judy Karr

Mrs. Judy Lynn Cosby Karr, age 56, passed away, September 16, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, TN. The funeral service for Mrs. Karr will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville MS. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 at Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Laron Self will officiate the service. Judy Lynn was born January 27, 1959 to the late Shuford W. Cosby and Myrtle Brewer Cosby in Panola County, MS. During her lifetime she was a seamstress for the former Big Yank in Water Valley, MS where she eventually retired after 20 plus years. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope, MS. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerry Schmitz of Pontotoc, MS, 4 daughters; Judy Ford Sullivan of Batesville MS, Charmie Schmitz, Carrie Griffin, and Trista McNeal all of Water Valley, MS, 4 sons; John Ford, Jr. and Walter Karr both of Batesville MS, Brian Schmitz of Ohio, and Allen Schmitz of Bruce, MS, 2 brothers; Larry Wayne "Crazy" Cosby and Mike Cosby both of Water Valley, MS, and 14 Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jo Cosby and one brother, William Julious Cosby.
