Michael Allen Smith

Michael Allen Smith, age 20, passed away Friday evening,September 11, 2015 in Yalobusha County. Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope, MS with interment to follow in Cold Springs Cemetery near Sardis, MS. The family will be receive friends at 3 PM prior to the service at Hosanna Family Worship Center. Reverend Damon Plummer will be officiating the service. Those honored to be pallbearers include, Garrett Barefoot, Gable Barefoot, Dalton Barefoot, Chris Brown, Peyton Gordon, and Octavious Smith. Michael was born November 4, 1994 in Oxford, MS to Terry Lee Smith and Jennifer Delacy Perkins Matthews. Micahel was a heavy equipment operator for Endevco in Oxford, MS. He enjoyed all outdoor activities and spending time with his family and many friends. Michael attended South Panola High School and graduated from Camp Shelby Youth Challenge in December of 2012. Michael's memory will be cherished by his mother, Delacy Perkins Matthews of Batesville, MS; father and step-mother, Terry Lee Smith (Christy) of Batesville, MS; sister, Harleigh Matthews of Batesville, MS; maternal grandmother, Beverly Wright Perkins of Batesville, MS, maternal great-grandparents, Allen and Dorothy Wright of Oxford, MS; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Dobbs of Baldwin, MS; three aunts, Dottie Potts (Chris) of Oxford, MS, Sandra Rogers of Saltillo, MS, Ria Russell of Saltillo, MS; two uncles, Paul Smith of Saltillo, MS, Jimmy Smith of Saltillo, MS; two cousins, Daniel and Landon Potts of Oxford, MS.
