Lynn A. Hawkins

Lynn A. Hawkins, age 73, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Lynn is the husband of Sherry Hawkins of Coldwater, MS. Funeral services for Mr. Hawkins will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at Wells from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Dr. Tommy Snyder will officiate the service.  Interment will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Coldwater, MS. Lynn was born December 3, 1941 to the late Lynn Anthony Hawkins, Sr. and Irene Williams Hawkins in Brownsville, TN. During his lifetime Lynn enjoyed farming, working on the family farm and raising cattle. He worked as a chemist and was a founding partner of Tenent and Associates during the mid 70's. After several years in business, the Company acquired Barrow-Agge Lab in Memphis, TN where Lynn remains an owner of to this day. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Sherry Freeman Hawkins of Coldwater, MS, 2 sons, Michael Hawkins (Becky) of Southaven, MS, and Darryl Hawkins of Southaven, MS, 2 Step-Daughters, Rebekah Robertson of Senatobia, MS, and Rachel Blair (Dan) of Batesville, MS, one sister, Reba Dale Herbison (Barry) of Southaven, MS, one brother, Dennis Hawkins (Marilyn) of Bartlett, TN, 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild. In addition to his parents, Lynn is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty McFarland, and Patsy Dotson.
