Jimmy D. Russell

Jimmy D. Russell, age 77, passed away early Saturday morning, August 15, 2015 at Affordable Senior Care in Southaven, MS. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2015 in the Martin Willingham Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. The Reverends Terry Floyd and Tim McMillan will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Jimmy was born March 5, 1938 in Sardis, MS to the late Vardaman and Beulah Saunders Russell. He was a retired Livestock Inspector for the Ms. State Board of Animal Health, and in his spare time was a commercial fisherman. Jimmy was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Walker Russell of Batesville, MS; two sons, Allen Russell of Sardis, MS, Jason Russell of Batesville, MS; sister Diann Jenning-Kelly of Olive Branch, MS; brother, Joe Russell of Batesville, MS; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
