Albert L. Gray

Albert "Bubba" Gray, Sr., age 76, passed away Thursday evening, July 2, 2015, at his home near Batesville, Mississippi. Bubba is husband to the late Ginger Gray. Services for Mr. Gray will be held Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Chapel at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service Sunday. Interment will follow the service at Forrest Memorial Park. Bubba was born June 19, 1939 in Panola County, MS to the late Willie Freeman Gray and Myrtle Ruth Taylor Gray. During his full lifetime he was a Riverboat Captain for many years and eventually retired from the industry. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and Panola Masons Lodge #66. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his 2 daughters, Rosa Gray Pettit (David) of Batesville, and Sonya Gray Brown (Jimmy) of Sardis, 1 son; Albert Lee Gray, Jr. (Tela) of Crowder, 1 sister; Rita Mottz of Paris, MS, 1 brother, Dwight Rhyne of Houston, MS, 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bubba is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Annie Ruth Gray White, Eva Joyce Rhyne, and 2 brothers; Darell Wayne Gray and Morris Ray Rhyne.
