Mr. Earnest K. Gordon, age 82, passed away Sunday morning, June 28, 2015, at his home in Batesville, Mississippi. He is the husband to Ms. Peggy Gooch Gordon. Funeral services for Bro. E.K. Gordon will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Martin Willingham Chapel of Wells Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. The family will also have visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will follow the service at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville MS. Earnest was born February 5, 1933 in Drew MS to the late John Edward Gordon and Myrtis Mae Gordon. Bro. Gordon was a retired minister from Calvary Baptist Church in Marks, MS and former minister of Victory Baptist Church in Batesville. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife Peggy Gooch Gordon, 5 daughters; Sharon Gordon Mills of Moss Point, MS, Regina Gordon Corley of Batesville, MS, Tina Gordon Phillips of Big Creek, MS, Elizabeth Gordon Raynes of Harmontown, MS, and Melisa Gordon Williquette of Batesville, MS, 4 son; Anthony Gordon of Burleson, TX, John Gordon of Water Valley, MS, Tim Gordon of Corinth, MS, Ernest Gordon of Oakland, MS, 2 step daughters; Joan Gooch Saunders of Oxford, MS, and Susan Gooch Obert of Franklin, TN, 3 step sons, James Edward Gooch of Oxford, MS, John Gooch of Ontario CA, and Doug Gooch of St. Petersburg, FL, one brother Robert Gordon of Wiginton, AL, 39 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.
