Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 09, 2009 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Forrest Memorial Park, visitation 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 09, 2009 till services at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Charles Locke will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge. LaVerne was born April 07, 1937 to the late Wayne Wray Edna Pearl Taylor McEwen in Panola County, MS.  She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church and member of The Batesville Lion’s Club. She was a homemaker and a retired Beautician. She is survived by her 4 sons: Richard W. Hudson of Southaven, MS, William L. Hudson,  Michael W. Hudson and Stephen L. Hudson all of Batesville, MS; 3 step-daughters; Deborah Ann Smith of Columbia, TN, Marilyn Edwina Bunting of Springhill, TN and Shelia Denise Allen of Catlin, IL and 1 step-son; Ronald E. McGee of Danville, IL; 24 grandchildren and and 20 great-grandchildren Laverne was preceded in death by her parents;  husband of 37 years, William H. “Billy” Hudson and Edwin Earl MeGee and 1 sister Marilyn Rose McEwen McGee.
