Katherine "Kathy" Potts Sykes

Katherine "Kathy" Potts Sykes, age 64, passed away Thursday evening, May 7, 2015 at Tallahatchie General Extended Care in Charleston, MS. Kathy is the wife of J.B. Sykes. Funeral services for Kathy will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Friday, May 8, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Dr. Tommy Snyder will officiate the service. She was born May 3, 1951 to the late W.L. and Ida Leona Woods Potts in Dade City, FL. During her lifetime she was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Batesville. Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband John B. Sykes Jr., one son; Danny Burlison, two brothers; Glen and Max Potts, and 4 grandchildren; Alexis Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Carlei Burlison and Catherine Joyce Burlison. In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by one sister; Debbie Potts Hamblin, one brother; Jerry Potts, and one son; Rusty Burlison.
