Live Video Webcast of ServiceCecil Wayne Smith, age 63, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home in Batesville, MS. Cecil is the husband of Pat Aldison Smith. Funeral services for Cecil will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville, MS. Mr. Michael Bates will officiate the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00. Interment will follow the service at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. Cecil was born February 5, 1952 to the late Phillip Marvin Smith and Lorraine Wagner Smith in Greenwood, MS. Cecil owned his own welding business, Smith Welding and Maintenance, and worked on and off for Tri-Star Mechanical in Batesville, MS for 18 years. He honorably served in the U.S. Marines obtaining the rank of Lance Corporal. He was a member of the Batesville Church of Christ. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Pat Aldison Smith of Batesville, MS, 2 sons; Hunter Smith (Lisa) of Greenwood, MS, and Nathan Smith (Susan) of Oxford, MS, 2 step-sons; Clay Goodwin of Greenwood, MS, and Adam Goodwin of Batesville, MS, 2 sisters; Ann Karlean Rohl of Martinsville, IN, and Dawn Terrazas Chambers of Houston, TX, 3 brothers; Phillip Smith of Batesville, MS, Trent Smith of Batesville, MS, and Barry Smith of Southaven, MS, and 3 Grandchildren; Weston Goodwin, Emma Smith and Hayes Smith. In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by one brother, John O. Stubbs.
