Elizabeth Maddux

Elizabeth Maddux, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Senatobia Convalescent Center in Senatobia, MS. Ms. Maddux is the widow of the late Robert F. Maddux. The funeral service for Mrs. Maddux will be held Friday, April 17th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Batesville Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:00. Interment will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. Elizabeth was born February 12, 1921 to the late Columbus Doss Lowry and Fannie Louise Mottley Lowry in Tunica County, MS. She was a homemaker during her life and enjoyed many hobbies including flower gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was a member of the Batesville Presbyterian Church, The Batesville Garden Club, Panola Pangens, DAR, and was a Home Demonstration Agent. Those left to cherish her memory include 2 daughters; Ann Elizabeth Maddux White (Ira Gale) of Batesville, MS, and Nina Louise Maddux of Senatobia, MS, 2 sons; Dr. Robert Finley Maddux (Diane) of Whitfield, MS, and David Lowry Maddux (Dorothy) of Batesville, MS, one sister; Joan Houston of Batesville, MS, 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband; Robert Finley Maddux, one brother; John Alfred Lowry, and two sisters; Rosemary Lowry Rhine and Louise Lowry Earnest.
