Jane Marie Keating Rodriguez died peacefully at home in Westport, Connecticut, on Sunday, April 12, 2015 after an eight year battle with breast cancer.
Born in Batesville, MS on November 22, 1963, Jane was an honors graduate of West Panola Academy, attended Mississippi University for Women, where she was a member of the Revelers Social Club and a Blacklister, and received her pharmacy degree from Ole Miss in 1987.
Jane was a Director, Regional Medical Liaison, Diabetes Field Team, US Medical Affairs, at Sanofi US. Jane started her career at Merck, where she worked for 20 years and was a member of the medical education team for the cholesterol drug Zocor.
Jane was an active member of Christ and Holy Trinity Church in Westport. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her loving husband, Rod, playing with her beagle-mix "Lucas," engaging with her diabetes field team colleagues, and a good tag sale.
Jane is survived by her husband Sabino (Rod) Rodriguez, law partner at Day Pitney LLP; her parents, Mary Evelyn Sorrels Keating and Ralph Keating, of Batesville, MS; her sister Linda and her husband Steve Parker of Asheville, NC; her step daughters and their spouses, Tracy and Thomas Forbes of Dedham, MA, Lexi and Stephen Kennedy of Fairfield CT, and Laura and Jennifer Zaylea of Cherry Hill, NJ, two step grandchildren, Zoe and Jayden Zaylea, and her God-children, Emma and Julien Massal. She was pre-deceased by her sister Patsy Ruth Keating.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th at the First Baptist Church of Batesville, MS, following which she will be laid to rest in the family plot at Curtis Union Church Memorial Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ and Holy Trinity Church in Westport, CT at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25th.
