Virginia Fowler Byers

Virginia Fowler Byers, age 92, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, MS. She is the widow of Roy C. Byers. Funeral services for Mrs. Byers will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00. Interment will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. Reverend Brad Burnett will officiate the service. Virginia was born October 23, 1922 to the late Drew Bailey Fowler and Mae Blanche Hentz Fowler in Panola County, MS. During her lifetime she was the owner of Virginia's Nursing Home and a founding member of the North Batesville Baptist Church. Her loving memory will be cherished by those left behind, including her 2 daughters; Pearl Byers Gregory (Steve) of Batesville, MS and Sylvia Byers Raby of Oxford, MS, her 2 sons; Cecil Byers of Orange, TX, and Richard Byers of Courtland, MS, 4 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Nell Byers.
