James Carter "Jimmy" Steinwinder

James Carter "Jimmy" Steinwinder, age 78, passed away Friday morning, March 27, 2015 at Baptist Memorial of North MS in Oxford, MS. He is the husband of Carolyn Steinwinder of Pope, MS. The services for Mr. Steinwinder will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00. Interment will follow at Roundaway Baptist Church Cemetery in Indianola, MS. Reverend Jeff Tankersly will officiate the service. Jimmy was born in Columbia, MS to the late Jefferson Patrick Steinwinder Jr. and Kathleen Carter Steinwinder. He retired after 32 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Army Reserves. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carolyn Steinwinder of Pope, MS; 2 sons, Joe Steinwinder of Enterprise, AL, and Mike Steinwinder of Starkville, MS; one step daughter, Cindy Griffin of Memphis, TN; one step son, Andy Tennyson of Batesville, MS; one brother, William Patrick Steinwinder of Jackosn, MS; 6 Grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Hile, Mary Katherine Hile, Anne Howard Steinwinder, Barrett Steinwinder, Carter Steinwinder, Emily Steinwinder; 4 Step-Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild, Laura Ashley Hile. Jimmy was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Margaret Gibson Steinwinder. The family requests anyone wanting to send memorial contributions to send those to Enid Lake Baptist Church Building Fund.
