Wayne Morris

Wayne Morris, age 73, passed away Sunday morning, March 8, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. Wayne is the husband of Sue Alred Morris and was a longtime deputy with the Panola County Sheriff's Department. Funeral services for Mr. Morris will be held Wednesday March 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Goodhope Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00. Dr. Andy Brashier will officiate the service. Wayne was born July 23, 1941 to the late Walter Cecil Morris and Sadie Clarkson Morris in Pope, MS. He was a member of Goodhope Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Sue Alred Morris of Batesville, MS; Step-Daughter Melissa Clayton (BJ) of Pope, MS; Step-son Andy Anderson (Robin) of Batesville, MS; one brother, Buck Morris (Lou Neil) of Batesville, MS; six Grandchildren, Charlie Wayne Barnett, Cecil Payton Barnette, Hannah and Brendan Clayton, Andria and Hailey Anderson. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by one daughter, Linda "Buffy" Morris Terry.
