Ruth M. Wicks

Ruth M. Wicks, age 79, joined her heavenly Father in glory on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS with her family by her bedside. Ruth's life will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening, March 9, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Officiating the serevices will be Reverend Kevin Crofford. Ruth was born on July 15, 1935 in Brighton, TN to the late James Lester McMillen and Frances Hanson McMillen Williams. She was a member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Lindsey (Buddy) McMillen, and one sister, Mary Lois Leggett. Ruth's surivors include her husband, Loren Wicks of Batesville, MS; one daughter, Deborah Sherman of Batesville, MS; two sons, Michael Brown (Vicki) of Batesville, MS, Timothy Carter (Susan) of Olive Branch, MS; one God daughter, Pam Fondren (Bobby) of Batesville, MS; six grandchildren, Justin Sherman (Shelia) of Madison, MS, Jeromy Sherman (Sarah) of Houston, TX, Joshua Brown (Valerie) of Sardis, MS, Loren Michael Brown (Samantha) of Louisville, KY, Jake Dickerson (Anna) of Southaven, MS, Josh Dickerson (Melonie) of Denver, CO; nine great-grandchildren, Samantha Sherman of Madison, MS, Gunnar, Henry and Frannie Sherman of Houston, TX, Landon Brown of KY, Laney Dickerson of Southaven, MS, Christian, Joshua, and Jonathan Louis of Sardis, MS; two sisters, Joann Glidewell (Bill) of Pontotoc, MS and Dorothy Plat (Wayne) of Hot Springs, AR
