James A. Morgan

James A. "Jim" Morgan, age 78, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5th, 2015 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Jim was born September 24, 1936 to the late Snead Wesley Morgan and Laura Bell Morgan in Metairie, LA. Jim served his country in the Navy, was a member of Batesville First Baptist Church, and retired from the Memphis Fire Department after 28 years of service. He was currently employed with the Panola County Sheriffs Dept. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners Club of Batesville, MS. Jim enjoyed many things in life. His family and friends always came first. He enjoyed fishing and helping people, never wanting anything in return. He was known to be a kind and generous man. His loving memory will be cherished by his wife, Sherry M. Morgan of Sardis, MS; son, Tim Morgan(Sandy) of Millington, TN; sister Margaret Piazza of Independence, LA; 2 brothers, Frank Morgan of Denver, CO. and Thad Morgan of Hendersonville, TN; 2 grandchildren, Christina Morgan and Bradley Williams, and 4 great grandchildren.
