Sister Newsom had been living in West Frankfort, Ill. to be close to her daughter. Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening, December 11, 2008 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Batesville, Ms. which she and her late husband, Rev. Mike L. Newsom founded. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the church also. Sister Newsom was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Mike L. Newsom; son, Johnny L. Newsom; sister, Helen Byars and her brother, William "Bill" Reeves. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary N. Dyson of Memphis, Tn. and Margaret N. "Tody" Gray of West Frankfort, Ill. Also, she leaves behind, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
