Velda Brown Carter

Velda Brown Carter, age, 85, passed away at her home in Batesville, MS on Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2015. She is the widow of the late Durrell (Molly) Carter. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:00 P.M. Mr. Michael Bates and Mr. Robert Rawson will be officiating the service. Ms. Carter was born October 30, 1929 in Harmontown, MS to the late Horace and Bellefield Snipes Brown. She was the former bookkeeper for Custom Sign Company in Batesville, MS, and she was also a member of the Batesville Church of Christ. Ms. Carter is survived by nieces, Sandy Snelling (Harry) of Batesville, MS, Billie Capwell (Wayne) of Pope, MS; niece, Melanie Corsby (Charlie) of Pope, MS and also many more nieces and nephews.
