Eugene M. Cole, age 77, of Enid MS passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Veterans Home in Oxford, MS.
The service for Mr. Cole will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cole Family Cemetery. Dr. Gary Berry will officiate the service.
Eugene was born September 1, 1937 to the late Eugene Middleton Cole and Myrtle Carlisle Cole in Tallahatchie County MS. During his life he was a City of Memphis Police Officer, where he retired after 30 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a 33 Degree Mason and member of the Shriners in Memphis, TN. He also was the former President of the Memphis Scottish Society and member of the American Scottish Society.
His memory will be cherished by his 2 children, Cecily Cole Galanopoulos (Stephen) and Stephen Eugene Cole (Diana), 2 sisters; Margaret Cole and Emily Cole Sanford, 4 brothers; John Cole, Jim Cole, Bill Cole, and David Cole, 3 Grandchildren; Trevor Cole, Ross Cole, and Callie Spicer.
