Video Memorial TributeRobert W. "Sonny" Moore, age 80, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home in Pope, MS. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope, MS with interment to follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. Reverend Derrick Simmons will be officiating, and those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Chad Williams, Mitch Wilson, Chuck Wilson, Jimmy Anthony, Lynn Campbell, Randy Campbell, Jimmy Dale Sellers and Jamie Snider. Mr. Sonny was born February 19, 1935 in Pope, Mississippi to the late Chester Ray and Erma Catherine Brewer Moore. He was an active member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he was Sunday School Secretary, and also a Deacon. Sonny honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an active volunteer within his community, having served on the Disaster Relief Team. Sonny worked for B and M Auto Parts in Batesville, MS for many years as the machine shop operator. Mr. Sonny was be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia Cambell Moore of Pope, MS; daughter, Denise Joy Moore of Southaven, MS; four step-daughters, Mary Jane Campbell, Patricia Toney, and Ashby Moore all of California, Debbie Roberson of Oakland, TN; son, Dennis Chester Moore (Sandy) of Cape Coral, FL; three step-sons, Mickey Campbell of Ashland, MS, Lynn Campbell of Southaven, MS, Randy Campbell of Pope, MS; three sisters, Elizabeth Carter of Sardis, MS, Nancy O'Neal of Sardis, MS, Bobbie Scruggs of Sardis, MS; one granddaughter, Jordan Taylor Moore. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ila Joy King. The family asks that anyone wishing to send memorial contributions, to send those to the donors choice.
