Homer H. Brower, age 87, passed away Friday morning, February 6, 2015 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, Mississippi.
Funeral services for Mr. Brower will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday February 8, 2015 at Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Black Jack Cemetery in Batesville MS. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Reverend Richard Hill will officiate the service.
Homer was born October 21, 1927 to the late Clinton and Betty Black Brower in Crowder, MS. He was a retired mechanic from John Deere for over 45 years. During his lifetime he enjoyed serving as a member of the Batesville Lions Club for 20 years. He also enjoyed spending his leisure time hunting, fishing and cooking. He was a faithful member of Black Jack Presbyterian Church.
His loving memory will be cherished by his wife, Katherine Rodgers Brower of Sardis, MS, three sons; Howard Brower of Batesville, MS, Robert Brower of Abbeville, MS, John Rodgers of Batesville, MS, one daughter; Diane Brower Parker of Bacliff, TX, one sister; Betty Marie Murphree of Pontotoc, MS, and 11 Grandchildren & 8 Great-Grandchildren.
Those honored to serve a pallbearers include: Justin Brower, Stevie Wigley, Christopher Brower, Nick Smith, Dexter Aldridge, Jameson Rodgers; along with honorary pallbearers: Mick Martin, Victor Ferguson, Jerry Lightsey, Tommy Joiner, Frank Waycaster, Calvin Land.
