James Edd Waldrup, age 87, passed away at his home February 2, 2015. He is the widower of Eleanor Raye Davis Waldrup.
The services for Mr. Waldrup will be held at the Batesville Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Visitation will be held at Wells Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening the 3rd. Interment will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville. Reverend Jerry Long will officiate the service.
James Edd was born October 2, 1927 to the late Edwin Allen "Eddie" Waldrup and Susan Patterson Waldrup in Pope, MS. He attended Pope High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army in WWII where was stationed in Panama. After he returned from the service he was a commercial business man and farmer in Panola County. He was a member of Batesville Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He served his community as the President of Dixie Gin Association, Mississippi Ginners Association, and was President of the Enon, Locke Station, Curtis Water Association.
Survivors include 2 sons; James Allen "Jimmy" Waldrup and William Jennings "Bubba" Waldrup (Connie), 5 Grandchildren; Susan Waldrup Hardy (Carey), Christy W. Johnston, Jennifer W. Mulholland (Danny), Adam Holmes Waldrup (Holly), and Alexandra W. Yelton (Andy), and 8 Great
Grandchildren; Bryce Colbert, Britton Colbert, Addison Hardy, Easton Hardy, Bankston Johnston, Parker Johnston, Cara Belle Waldrup and Erin Mulholland.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, he was preceded in death by 5 sisters; Bea Waldrup, Lottie W. Hill, Cornelia W. DeFrances, Belma W. Aldridge, and Lanelle W. Dogan, and 1 brother; Taylor Joe Waldrup.
