Kenneth Deward Bloodworth, age 68, passed away Thursday January 29, 2015, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston after a long illness of dementia.
The services for Mr. Bloodworth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville MS. Dr. David Ball will officiate and be assisted by Dr. Paul Middleton. Pallbearers included the following: Ken Knotts, Glenn McCain, Danny Perkins, David Still, Timothy Walker, and Randy Willis. Honorary Pallbearers included the following: John D. Collins, M.L. Griffin, Chuck Hickman, Billy McGehee, Charlie Overton, and Johnny Willis.
Mr. Bloodworth was born August 28, 1946, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Deward Dupree Bloodworth and Pauline Early Bloodworth. A graduate of Northwest Community College and Mississippi State University, he dedicated his career to the agriculture industry. He was owner of Panola Farmers Services in Batesville, MS for over 20 years.
Known for his generosity to those in need, he served as a youth Sunday school teacher, chairman of the deacons, member of two church building committees, and chairman of numerous church committees. He was a member of the Cross Ministry and chaperoned youth groups on various mission trips. He was an avid Mississippi State University supporter and enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant child, Jason Bloodworth, and one sibling, Charles Wayne Bloodworth.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Karen Arnold Bloodworth; two sons: Kent Maxwell Bloodworth (Stacie) of Madison and Ward Forest Bloodworth (Lauren) of Hernando; one daughter, Anne Bloodworth Funches (Kenny) of Arlington, TX; a sister, Sandra Gail Bloodworth (Fred May) of New York, NY; sister-in-law, Margaret Puckett Bloodworth of Walls; and three grandchildren: Max, Drake, and Rivers Bloodworth.
