John I. Woods

John "Johnny" Woods, age 66, passed away Tuesday evening, January 20, 2015, at Tri Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Wells Funeral Home Batesville, MS with Rev. Johnny Tullos officiating. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park, Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 on the 23rd. John was born on January 4, 1949 in Quitman County, MS to the late Henry Woods and Ella Jones Woods. during his lifetime he worked as a mechanic and enjoyed fixing and restoring tractors, working and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Linda Faye Weaver Woods of Batesville, MS; one daughter Johnnie Renea Smith of Batesville, MS; 2 sisters, Lena Davis of Jena, LA. and Virginia Culbreath of Wills Point, TX; one brother, Henry "H.O." Woods of Jackson, MS; 5 Grandchildren, Johnathan Chase Smith, John Daniel Woods, Jr., Anna Francis Woods, Ethan Cole Woods, Paizlee Grace Woods and one Great-Grandson John Skylar Smith.
