Edward Terrell Cockrell

Edward Terrell Cockrell, age 75, passed away Monday morning, January 12, 2015 at his home in Pope, MS. Funeral services for Mr. Cockrell will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville MS. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Dr. Gary Berry will officiate the service. Terrell was born May 16, 1939 to the late Horace Edward Cockrell and Millie Beatrice Womble Cockrell in Water Valley, MS. He was a retired Master Chief Petty Officer after serving 31 years for his country in the U.S. Navy. During his lifetime he enjoyed serving his country and always enjoyed visiting with relatives, friends and his church family. He was a faithful member of Pope Baptist Church. His loving memory will be cherished by his brother; Gerald Cockrell of Memphis TN. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife; Anita Smith Cockrell and two brothers; Charles Edward Cockrell and Kenneth Raymond Cockrell.
