Alice Louise Winters Rico, age 88, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 31, 2014 at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston, MS.
The family will be celebrating Ms. Rico's life 11:00 A.M. Monday morning, January 5, 2015 at the Crowder Assembly of God Church with interment to follow in Crowder Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Crowder Assembly of God Church. Presiding over the services will be Reverend Murphy Eubanks and Reverend Clay Pritchett.
Ms. Rico was born November 13, 1926 in Essex, MS to the late Alberry and Leona Turner Winters. She was a faithful and active member of the Crowder Assembly of God Church. During her working years, she helped to provide for her family by working 15 years for the Hosiery Mill and then onto Panola Mills for 10 years. She had a great love for her church and church family. Ms. Rico thoroughly enjoyed gospel music and cooking for family and friends while able. Her greatest love was for her husband, Anderson Richard Rico, who cared for her for over 68 years. Other than her late husband, she had a deep love for all her children and grandchildren. For the past 14 years, there have been numerous caregivers caring for her, and the family would like them to know how much she loved each and every one of them.
Those who will cherish her loving memory the most include her two daughters, Patricia Rico Keeton of Batesville, MS; Jackie Rico Shaw (Donnie) of Batesville, MS; son, Richard Anderson Rico, Jr. (Linda) of Pope, MS; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Ms. Rico was preceded in death by her son, Garland Lee Rico, and her sister Betty Kay Winters Green.
The family asks that anyone wishing to send memorial contributions to forward those to Crowder Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 187, Crowder, MS 38622
