Thomas E. Shroads

Thomas E. Shroads, age 76, passed away Saturday evening, December 27, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. The family will celebrate the life of Mr. Shroads 10:00 A.M. Wednesday morning, December 31, 2014 at Westview Baptist Church in Oxford, MS. The committal service will follow later Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. in Indianola Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 30, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. Thomas was born January 25, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Stanley and Ethel Sias Shroads. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Oxford, MS, and retired after many years of service working for Tri-Star Mechanical in the HVAC industry. Thomas honorably served his country in U.S. Army. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife, Dorothy Richards Shroads of Batesville, MS; daughter, Sarah Shroads Hawkins of Batesville, MS; son, Tommy Shroads of Oxford, MS; sister, Donna Shorads McBarron of Louisville, KY; brother, Jimmy Shroads of Gary, IN, and one grandson, Landon Hawkins. Other than his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Leanna Shroads.
