Bonnie Tutor Sharp passed away on December 22, 2014, at her home in Batesville.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, Batesville, MS on Saturday, December 27, 2014, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM. Dr. Tommy Snider will be presiding.
Mrs. Sharp was born on September 11, 1929, the youngest of three children to the late Vonza F. and Tempie M. Turner Tutor.
She was preceded in death by parents, her son, Marty K. Sharp, her sister, May Von Tutor Allen, her brother-in-law, Ralph L. Allen and her brother, G.L. "Lagrone" Tutor.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil O. Sharp of 68 years, a son Kevin V. Sharp of Batesville, three grandchildren, Tyler (Elisa) Sharp, Blake Sharp both of Batesville, Jordan Sharp of Dundee, MS, a sister-in-law, Lyn Keys Tutor of Magee, MS, and three nephews, Judd F. (Patty) Allen of Boone, NC, Jerry (Virginia Kay) Allen of Mariow, NC and Terry (Connie) Tutor of Magee, Ms.
Ms. Sharp graduated from Crowder, MS High School and Delta State Teachers College at Cleveland, Mississippi, with a degree in Piano and Public School Music. She taught piano and public school music at Lambert, MS and Sledge, Ms, and also she taught at home.
After teaching several years, she and her husband opened and operated two ladies shops, "The Pacesetter of Sharp Fashions", in Marks, MS and Batesville, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Keenagers of First Baptist Church, Batesville, MS.
She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Marks, MS, Oakhurst Baptist Church, Clarksdale, MS, and was presently a member of First Baptist Church, Batesville where she was a member of the Keenagers.
The funeral will be under the direction of Wells Funeral Home with burial in Forrest Memorial Park.
