Clayton Cory Sayles

Clayton Cory Sayles, age 28, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014, at his home in Pope, Mississippi. The funeral services for Cory will be 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon, December 21, 2014, at Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope, Mississippi. Reverend Damon Plummer and Rayford Ables will be presiding. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. The Sayles Family will receive friends beginning two hour prior to the service. Cory was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on May 3, 1986, to Jimmy Ray Sayles and Debbie Pittman Sayles Cobb. He was an avid outdoorsman. Cory not only enjoyed hunting, but especially liked to take children hunting. During his free time Cory also enjoyed eating out and traveling. Gatlinburg was one of his favorite destinations. Cory enjoyed spending time with his mother and talking with her about his Christianity. He also loved to run track hoes and farm. His loving memory will be cherished by not only his two parents, but also his two sisters, Sherri LaRaye Sayles of Pope, MS and LaDuski Lynn Hale of Mayfield, KY; and one grandmother, Imogene Hester of Batesville, MS. Cory was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Barney Earl Pittman, and his paternal grandparents, John Coy "Buck" and Lillian Benard Sayles. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: David Mills, Sam Wray, Wes Brewer, Ryan Vaughn, Tyler Lott, Andrew Thornton, Eric Neth, Brett Griffin, and Heath Keaton.The family asked those who would wish to send memorial please do so to The Hosanna Worship Center Childrens New Building Fund at 586 Hentz Rd, Pope, MS 38658.
