Mary M. Darby

Mary M. Darby, age 97, passed away, Sunday November 23, 2014 at her home in Courtland, MS. Mrs. Darby is the widow of Morris Albert Darby. The funeral service for Mrs. Darby will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS with interment to follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Courtland, MS. The family will receive friends Tuesday November 25, 2014 prior to the funeral at 12:00 noon. Reverend Chris Cooksey will officiate. Mary was born August 31, 1917 in Tocowa, MS to the late Tom D. Murphree and Gladys Simmons Murphree. She was an active and faithful member of Shiloh Methodist Church. Her loving memory will be cherished by her 2 sons; Gene Darby and wife Joyce of Courtland, MS, and William M. "Bill" Darby and wife Sandra of Batesville, MS; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Darby and wife Debre, Jay Darby and wife Cindy, Genelle Scott and husband Jim, Mari Correro and husband Bubba, and William Jack Darby and wife Carol; 12 great grandchildren, Michael Darby, Whit Darby, Chad Darby, Jenny Marquez and husband Adam, Jay Scott and wife Christy, Casey Scott, Cole Correro, Case Correro, Ian Correro, Tait Darby, Harley Darby and Avery Darby; and one great great grandchild, Isabel Marquez.
