Charlayne Gladney Lamb

Charlayne Gladney Lamb, age 75, passed away late Sunday evening, November 16, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford. A service of rememberance will be 11:00 o'clock A.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Batesville Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Dr. Don Yancey will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, November 18, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Charlayne was born July 25, 1939 in Batesville, MS to the late Charles Harold and Dixie Scruggs Gladney. Mrs. Lamb was a member of the Batesville Presbyterian Church and was a retired school teacher of 38 years. Following her retirement, she and her husband loved to travel, as well as, fishing, working with stained glass windows, ceramics and various arts and crafts. Charlayne was one of few that holds a masters certificate in Japanese Bunka. She was very active in volunteering her time as a Muscular Dystrophy Fundraiser and band booster along with being a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her memory will be held close by her husband, Richard Lamb of Batesville, MS; two daughters, Dixie Lamb and Mazie Lamb both of Walls, MS. Along with her parents, Charlayne was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Harold Gladney.
