David Daniel Perkins, age 75, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the Tallahatchie County Nursing Home in Charleston, Mississippi. Funeral services for Mr. Perkins will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville, Mississippi, with interment to follow at Cold Springs Road Cemetery in Sardis, Mississippi. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. David was born September 11, 1939 to the late Birttee Perkins and Louise Leeton Perkins in Panola County Mississippi. He was a member of the Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. David retired from Muscle Shoals in Batesville Mississippi where he was the plant manager. David was an avid gardener and enjoyed his time in the garden. His loving memory will be cherished by his wife, Beverly Wright Perkins of Charleston, MS; 2 daughters, DeLacy Perkins Kendall and her husband Sammy of Enid, MS, Dottie Perkins Potts and her husband Chris of Oxford , MS; 4 brothers, Paul Perkins of Tupelo, MS, Darrell Perkins of Hernando, MS, Larry Perkins of Sardis MS, and Frank Perkins of Sardis, MS; 1 sister Mary Lee Wilson of Sledge, MS; 5 grandchildren, Michael Smith, Harliegh Matthews, Daniel Perkins, Landon Potts, and Blare Kendall. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Perkins.
