Anderson D. "A.D." Morris, age 87, of Batesville, Mississippi, passed away Thursday morning, September 18, 2014, at Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi. The funeral service for Mr. Morris will at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 20, 2014, at First Faith Baptist Church in the Coles Point community, with interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service at 12:00 P.M. at First Faith Baptist Church. Reverend Terry Floyd and Reverend Derrick Simmons will officiate the service. A.D. was born January 9th, 1927 in Ripley, MS to the late Joseph V. Morris and Fannie Windham Morris. He was a retired supervisor with John Morrell of Memphis, TN. A.D. served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII and received an honorable discharge. He was an active and faithful member of First Faith Baptist Church. His loving memory will be cherished by his wife, Janice Clayton Morris of Batesville, MS; four daughters, Faye Morris Highland of Batesville, MS, Sandy Morris Baker of Hernando, MS, Charlotte Morris Sandlin of Clarksdale, MS, and Teresa Morris Neal of Walls, MS; one sister, Jean Morris Oswalt of Columbus, S.C.; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
