Jamie Loyd Rushing

Jamie Loyd Rushing, age 80, passed away Friday afternoon, September 5, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Oxford MS. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 7th, 2014 at Wells Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 2:30 in Forrest Memorial Park. Reverend Clay Baker will be officiating. Jamie was born April 26, 1934 in Stewart, MS to the late James Ollie and Ella Parrish Rushing. He was a retired truck driver for Valley Foods. Jamie honorably served his country in the U.S. Army acquiring a rank of Private First Class. Jamie is survived by his daughter, Melinda Gehrett of Canton, MS; son, Ken Rushing (Monica) of Crystal Springs, MS; two sisters, Opal Rushing Jaudon and Lois Rushing Roberts both of Harrison, AR; three brothers, Roy Rushing (Faye), Nathan Rushing (Sue) both of Harrison, AR, and David Rushing of Eupora, MS; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
