Loyd W. Dobbins

Loyd W. Dobbins, age 88, passed away Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014 at the Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 4th 2014 at Sardis Lake Baptist Church with interment to follow at Helen Crigger Cemetery in Munford, Tn. Family and friends will gather at Sardis Lake Baptist Church at 12:00P.M. for visitation prior to the funeral. Brother Kevin Crofford will officiate. Loyd was born October 9, 1925 to the late William P. Dobbins and Ida Mae Dobbins in Millington, TN. Mr. Dobbins was a deacon for Sardis Lake Baptist Church since 1998 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Loyd is survived by his wife Inez Besenger Dobbins of Memphis, TN; 3 step-daughters, Janie Benefield (Doward) of Memphis, TN, Jimmie Pannell (Jack) of Munford TN, and Sandra Thompson of Memphis, TN; 1 step-son James Lawrence (Barbara) of Olive Branch, MS He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Lena Lawrence Dobbins, 4 sisters, 5 brothers, 2 step-daughters and 2 step sons.
