John Lawson True

John Lawson True, age 75, passed away Sunday morning, August 24, 2014, at his home in Batesville, Mississippi. Funeral services for Mr. True will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS, with visitation preceding at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow the funeral at Hopewell Cemetery in Water Valley, MS. Mr. Hal Johnson will officiate the service. John was born January 4, 1939 in Water Valley MS to the late Mechach Turner True and Dorothy Littleton True. He retired from CN Railroad after 39 years of service as a conductor. John is survived by 2 sons; Jody True of Hernando, MS and Scotty McCain of Olive Branch MS; 2 sisters Ann Schimdt of Virginia Beach, VA and Mary Hegwood of Wauchula, FL; 1 brother Jim True of Water Valley MS; and 2 grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Beard True; 1 son John L. True Jr. and 1 sister Frances Davis.
