Mrs. Jeanie Avenelle Marquis Hughes
Mrs. Jeanie Avenelle Marquis Hughes, age 64, of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on June 23, 1950 in Marks, Mississippi. She was the loving daughter of Homer Lee, Sr. and Mavis Avenelle Rodgers Marquis. She was a 1969 graduate of Lockport High School in Lockport, Illinois. She later attended Ivy Tech. Jeanie was united in marriage to Rick Napper earlier in life. Jeanie had resided the past 30 years in Jefferson County and had worked for over 20 years with Grote Industries as an assembler. She enjoyed rehabbing furniture and being a devoted mother and grandmother. Jeanie was a faithful member of the Hanover Baptist Church. Jeanie died on Friday, August 15, 2014, at 2:14 a.m. at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
A LOVING FAMILY
Jeanie will be missed by her loving her loving son, Jeffery Moody and his wife, Michelle of Lafayette, Indiana; her loving daughter, Twyla Hughes Moon of Madison, Indiana; her mother, Mavis Avenelle Rodgers Marquis of Walls, Mississippi; her son in law, Eugene Moon of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren, Emilie, Quentin, and Myles; her step grandchildren, Ashley, Megean, and Afton; her great granddaughter, Addison; two sisters, Connie Fonseca of Walls, Mississippi, Anita Marquis of Horn Lake, Mississippi; her brother, Homer Lee Marquis, Jr., and his wife, Janet of Louisiana; her best friend, Lorie King of Terre Haute, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Lee Marquis, Sr., died June 17, 2011, her grandparents, George & Estelle Griffin Rogers and Hulon & Maggie Marquis.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 21, 2014, at 11:00 am, at the Wells Funeral Home, 340 Hwy 35 North in Batesville, Mississippi. Interment will follow in the Forest Memorial Park in Batesville, Mississippi.
VISITATION
Friends may call Monday from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Hanover Baptist Church, 151 West Main Street Hanover, Indiana with an evening service at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Wells Funeral Home, 340 Hwy 35 North in Batesville, Mississippi.
