Larry Wayne Hamblin

Larry Wayne Hamblin, age 62, passed away Friday morning, August 1, 2014 at his home in Batesville, MS. He is the widower of Debbie Potts Hamblin. Graveside services will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Forrest Memorial Park with the family receiving friends from 2:00 - 3:30 P.M. Sunday afternoon at Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Raymond Aven will be officiating the service. Larry was born June 2, 1952 in Marks, Mississippi to the late Claxton Berry Hamblin and Hazel Hill Fields. He served his country from 1971 to 1977 in the U.S. Marines and went on to also service in the U.S. National Guard from 1977 to 1980. Larry retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Pipe Line Operator and also worked in the Carpenter Shop. He was also a Shriner. Larry is survived by his daughter, Ann Chunn of Batesville, MS; brother, Jacky Hamblin of Batesville, MS; two grandchildren, Haley Lamm and Geri Lamm. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and his brother, Billy Hamblin.
