Janet Wray Avery Roberson

Janet Wray Avery Roberson, age 69, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, MS. The family will be having a private memorial service at a later time. Janet was born August 30, 1944 in the Tocowa community near Courtland, MS to the late Claude Hubert Avery, Sr. and Ruby Wray Avery. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Courtland, MS. Janet was a retired Eligibility Case Worker for the MS. Department of Human Services, who, in her spare time, enjoyed traveling, working in her yard and gardening. She had a special love for her two cats, and got great enjoyment out of feeding birds and the wildlife around her home. Her loving memory will continue and be cherished by her soulmate, Ronald York of Olive Branch, MS; daughter, Alisa Haley (Mark) of Batesville, MS; son, Perrin Roberson (Lori) of Southaven, MS; granddaughter, Margo Wray Haley of Batesville, MS and her sister, Charlotte A. Bailey of Courtland, MS. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Claude Hubert Avery, Jr. and an infant daughter, Beverly Ann Roberson. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Shiloh United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donors choice.
